How I work

Reaching out for support can feel hard, especially if you’ve already had difficult or exhausting experiences. My role is to work alongside you in a calm, non-judgemental way, helping you feel more confident and supported as you navigate challenges around your autistic child or young person.

There is no pressure, no expectation to commit, and no one-size-fits-all approach.

An initial conversation

We begin with a relaxed, no-obligation conversation. A space to talk things through, share what feels important, and explore what support might be helpful for your family.
I take time to understand your child’s needs, strengths, and experiences, as well as the wider context around them, mental health, school, family pressures.

Support is tailored to your family, and may include guidance around school distress, mental health, PDA profiles, preparing for meetings, or understanding reports and recommendations. Some families benefit from one-off guidance; others value ongoing support. We decide together what feels right.

Working with families

I work alongside parents, not over them. Every family I support receives practical, grounded guidance that centres the wellbeing and voice of their young person.

I prioritise safety, trust, and collaboration in every interaction, and I translate complex systems and terminology into language that actually makes sense, so you feel informed and confident rather than overwhelmed.

Working with schools and services

I work collaboratively with education settings, schools, and wider support services to build understanding and create safer, more inclusive environments around young people. This includes:

  • Training sessions for staff on autism, PDA profiles, and neuro-affirming practice
  • Consultation and advice for settings supporting children with complex needs
  • Attending meetings, reviews, and planning conversations to help bridge the gap between families and professionals.

If your setting is supporting a young person whose needs aren’t being met, or if your team would benefit from deeper understanding of demand avoidance and what actually helps, I’d welcome a conversation.

What I don't do

I don’t diagnose or replace clinical services. My work is firmly grounded in neuro-affirming, strength-based approaches, so if you’re looking for compliance-based strategies, I’m probably not the right fit.

If you’re open to a different way of understanding these young people, I’d love to talk.

If you’re wondering whether this support might be helpful, you’re welcome to get in touch for a free, no-obligation conversation.
