Navigating the systems around an autistic child can be exhausting and isolating. Here is what some of the families I have supported have said about working together.

As a parent navigating the SEND system, Jemma’s support has been invaluable. She guided me through every stage of securing my son’s EHCP, helping me raise complaints in the right way to ensure specialist provision was named. Jemma even sat with me and explained each part of the EHCP, bit by bit, so I could fully understand what each need meant and which provision should meet it.

Her knowledge of autism, ADHD, and PDA is incredible, and it made such a difference in helping me understand my son’s needs and how they should be supported.

She supported me through the annual review process as well, making sure everything was chased properly and that I knew exactly who to contact. Even once my son was in specialist provision, Jemma continued to guide and support me, helping me identify what the setting was, and wasn’t, doing to meet his needs.

Throughout the entire journey, Jemma was incredibly thorough, clear, and endlessly supportive. I truly couldn’t have navigated the process without her

“Jemma has been so supportive during one of the most difficult times of my life while I was trying to understand how to support my child while also navigating a whole new world of language and systems (and also trying to communicate with school).

I found that Jemma understood on many levels what might help my child to regulate day to day, what support I needed to advocate for in school, and what professionals I should involve (and what they could provide). Even though we live in different areas of the country Jemma would investigate services local to me when I found this overwhelming.

Jemma’s approach is calm and consistent and also passionate. She is very child-focussed and has helped me to understand my child’s experience and also to have more confidence that I know what my child needs and can advocate for this.”
